Destination South-East Asia

On the 5th of April Shanyue and I have our flight to Bangkok through Kuala Lumpur. From the airport we're going directly to Ko Samet by bus and boat and we'll stay there a couple of days, floating on tropical waves. Then we'll be back to Bangkok and on the 13th she'll come back to Amsterdam. At some point around May or June she'll reach me again in Hainan, an island in the south of China (you can see it in the map). In between and around, I'll be spending maybe three months in that region of the world, especially in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
That's all I know so far about the destinations of my travels in the next few months. Some worries but I just can't wait!

Il 5 Aprile io e Shanyue abbiamo un volo per Bangkok con scalo Kuala Lumpur. Dall'aeroporto andremo direttamente a Ko Samet con pullman e battello e staremo lì per un paio di giorni a farci cullare dalle onde tropicali. Poi torneremo a Bangkok e il 13 Aprile lei tornerà ad Amsterdam. Ad un certo punto a Maggio o Giugno mi raggiungerà di nuovo ad Hainan, un'isola nel sud della Cina (si vede nella mappa sopra). Nel frattempo, e dopo, spenderò forse tre mesi in quella regione del mondo, specialmente in Tailandia, Cambogia, Laos, e Vietnam.
Questo è tutto quello che so al momento sulle destinazioni dei miei viaggi per i prossimi mesi. Qualche preoccupazione ma non vedo proprio l'ora!

Nearly there

After so many years of non-stop working and/or studying, in a week I'll begin my biggest break ever -- a six months sabbatical leave.
This blog is for me to have an easy way for sharing my experiences during that time with the people who care and that I care for.
Facebook, you say? Lots of noise and lack of personal touch -- people coming through and leaving a "like" in the middle of advertisement and silly games.
So then what you should get here -- if I don't get tired of it before too long -- is about my travels (heading to South-East Asia soon, then who knows), food, and maybe something about my projects on the side.

Dopo anni di lavoro e studio senza interruzioni, tra una settimana inizierò la vacanza più lunga di sempre -- sei mesi di sabbatico.
Utilizzerò questo blog come modo facile per condividere le mie esperienze durante quel periodo con le persone che ci tengono e a cui tengo.
Facebook? Troppo rumore e niente personalità -- persone che passano di sfuggita lasciando un "Mi piace" in mezzo a pubblicità e giochini.
Cosa dovreste trovare qui -- se non mi stufo troppo presto -- sarà sui miei viaggi (parto per il Sud-Est Asiatico presto, poi chissà), cibo, and forse qualcosa sui miei progetti collaterali.
